Comfort Arthur

Comfort Arthur is a British born Ghanaian award-winning Animator and artist. Comfort Arthur had her training at the Royal College of Arts (London). In 2012 she moved to Ghana to become a film editor before leaving her job to set up The Comfy Studio. The Comfy Studio a multimedia studio based in Ghana. The company produces animation, illustration and live action content. The comfy Studio produces content that focuses on social related topics such as sexual harassment, skin bleaching and mental health issues. In 2016 her short animation film “Imagine” won best Animation at the Golden Movie Awards. The following year her short film Black Barbie starring Ama K Abebrese has been an international hit and has been screened at over 50 film festivals across the world. Black Barbie is currently being used in schools under “INTO FILM” film clubs in England as education resources. The film Black Barbie is currently being published into a children’s book in America. Comfort Arthur is also a visual artist and has had a few exhibitions in Ghana. In 2018 she won 1st runner up at Kuenyehia Ghana contemporary Art prize for her installation called Naughty Nii.
