David Johnson’s first foray into film was in 2009 with the release of the Christian short film No Apologies. From there he saw a future in media and switched programs at UTech to enroll in a media degree. His final year documentary Just Action found an audience at GATFFEST 2015. It chronicled the challenges of filmmaking in Jamaica and won the Viewer s Choice Award for Best Documentary. Now as an established Director and Cinematographer he would partner with Aliceia Dawkins to release Snapshot Kingston in 2016. The short film won numerous awards at Lignum Vitae and GATFFEST 2016. He now has his sights set on tackling heavier stories and themes with his latest short film UNBOUND.
