Alex Kirui holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature and Communication from the University of Nairobi (Class of 2011). Although having never been to film or animation school, an unyielding passion for illustration and animation led him to work as a freelance artist for leading newspapers in Kenya including the Nation and Standard newspapers while an undergraduate student. He later joined Buni Media as a storyboard artist for the XYZ Show before taking on the role of Lead Animator for various projects. He is currently the Executive Producer and Lead Animator at Mfalme Productions and the creator of the Makarao animated series.
