Annetta Laufer is an award-winning filmmaker who has created films that have screened at national and international film festivals including Encounters Film Festival, London Short Film Festival, PAFF, Underwire Film Festival and the Harlem International Film Festival in New York. She won Best Film for her film WINNIE AND THE DUPPYBAT at the BFM International Film Festival and was also a finalist for Best Film at the American Black Film Festival. HBO subsequently bought and broadcast the film. She won best Screenplay at the Indian Cine Film Festival for her film SCARLET. In February 2016 Annetta was selected for Film London’s London Calling Plus scheme, to make her dystopian SCI FI short film AFRO PUNK GIRL which premiered at the London Short Film Festival 2017. She is also a recipient of the John Brabourne Award, 2017. Annetta is using this award to write the feature film of AFRO PUNK GIRL.
