Chris Van Loan Sr. is a director, producer, actor, film editor and musician. His production company, Van Loan Productions, has participated in several Austin 48 Hour Film Festival competitions. His 2013 entry in the Austin 48 Hour Film Festival, “Paint”, was voted one of the top 10 films in the competition and screened at the “Best of Festival” showcase. His short documentary, “The Black Mariachi”, screened at the inaugural Capital City Black Film Festival (Austin, TX) in 2013 and the short documentary “Close to the Line” won the Best Short Documentary award at the Capital City Black Film Festival in 2014.
