Cristian Carretero is an independent filmmaker based in New York City, originally from Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. His work has been shown worldwide. While at Sarah Lawrence College he worked closely with color photographer Joel Sternfeld. At FAMU in the Czech Republic he was mentored by cinematographer Jaromir Sofr. Currently he is an MFA candidate at the Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film and Television at New York University. He has made several short films many of which have been prestigiously awarded. He is currently writing a feature length film.
