Dr. Kimberly Harper earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, a Masters in Technical and Scientific Communication from Miami of Ohio, and a PhD in Technical and Professional Discourse from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. Prior to teaching, she worked in corporate America as a technical writer for Jenzabae-Cincinnati, Volvo Parts - North America, and a smattering of non-profit organizations. After working in corporate America, she taught for six years at Albany State University in Albany, GA and recently joined the faculty at North Carolina A&T as the Director of Technical Communication for the Department of English. Her research interests include the rhetoric of document design, histography and the narrative, textbook curriculum, hip-hop studies, women in Islam, and cultural discourse. Robyn Saleem-Abdusamad earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications - Public Relations from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (North Carolina A&T) and a Masters in Public Administration from National University. She worked for non-profit organizations as a public relations manager and director for National Multiple Sclerosis Society, North Carolina A&T State University and Guilford County Schools. After being a stay-at-home mother for several years, she returned to work for corporate America. She is also a published author of four children books: 'Wahid and His Special Friend,' 'You Are Beautiful,', 'Zaynab's Enchanted Scarf' and “Zakiyyah’s Talking Flower Garden”.
