Jen Shaw

JENN SHAW is an DGA award-winning director specializing in genre stories that champion the underdog, explore inner quirkiness and unveil a unique cultural experience. Her bold, cinematic filmmaking has both distinctive humor and dramatic instinct with a love for fantasy, coming-of-age and sports. She has directed over 50 commercials, documentary films and over eight narrative shorts premiering at Hollyshorts, Pan African, Cannes Short Film Corner and Tribeca Film festivals. In 2017, her ESPN film $15 Kicks was executive produced by Spike Lee and earned a Black Reel Award. Within the last two years, she’s directed several narrative shorts, I Won The Lottery…, Charlie and the Hunt starring Lauren Ridloff (Eternals, Walking Dead) and Gaps executive produced by Queen Latifah, Tribeca Studios and Procter and Gamble in the prestigious Queen Collective initiative. Her debut feature film is in advanced development with production company tinygiant. The film has confirmed casting director Kim Coleman (Love Craft, SpaceJam: The New Legacy) as Executive Producer. Currently, she’s a participant in Black Magic Future Women in TV and Film cohort. Her film Gaps is nominated for a 2024 NAACP Image Award. She’s repped by Sola Fasehun of The Distribution Collective (TDC) and managed by Elissa Friedman at Zero Gravity.
