Featured in The Hollywood Reporter’s 2019 Black Female Writers to Watch, Jewel McPherson took the festival circuit by storm this year with her directorial debut NEGROLAND. This dystopian take on the water crisis plaguing the community of Flint, Michigan was selected in Oscar Qualifying HBO ABFF, Cinequest, Pan African Film Festival to name a few. Her style ranges from pop urban to gritty thriller. After producing and shadow-directing on Lee Daniel’s STAR (Fox) she is now a writer/producer on Lena Waithe’s THE CHI (Showtime) . She is represented for film and TV at CAA and Anonymous Content and is based in Los Angeles.
