Kristen V Carter

Kristen V. Carter is an award-winning filmmaker, television writer/producer, speaker and educator from Newark, New Jersey. She has produced for a variety of television’s top programs including BET’s Black Girls Rock, NBC’s The Voice, and MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew. In addition, Kristen has served as a speech writer for Viacom executives, including BET’s CEO Debra Lee. Kristen is the recipient of many awards including the Goldman Sachs Institute for Entrepreneurial Thinking 1st Place Prize, National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship’s Most Civic Minded Business Award, the 2011 Hanks-Miller Screenwriting Fellowship and the 2013 San Francisco Black Film Festival’s First Time Filmmaker Award. She was also a nominee for the 2014 FOX Global Directors Initiative and quarter-finalist for the 2015-2016 Film Independent Project Involve Sony Pictures Executive Track Fellowship Program.
