Sarafina McIntosh is a Creative Director, filmmaker and a contributor to Radio One Hip-Hop Detroit. Her love affair with music inspired her to chronicle the experiences of women in Hip-Hop in her debut documentary, Badassery. Badassery takes a closer look at women who are unapologetically disrupting Toronto’s music industry. Sarafina realizes the influence that music has, to create dialogue, evoke change, and most importantly provide healing. She will continue to use film, journalism, and music to bring about impactful change. Sunita Miya-Muganza is a socially conscious film writer and director from Toronto. Her love for storytelling began on the stage at York University as she pursued a degree in International Development Studies. Her passion for theatre lead her to create Grassroots International Productions (G.R.I.P Media) a multimedia production company where she made it her mission to ensure that equal opportunities for artists of color were created. Sunita’s debut documentary, Badassery (2017) is a powerful tale of unapologetic women disrupting Toronto music industry.
