Terri Ella is a visual storyteller. As a documentary, branded content, music video and theatre director, Terri has a keen eye for design, ear for music and love for cinematography. Terri’s foray into documentary filmmaking began with an opportunity to direct two episodes of Quizzical Pictures’s documentary series, A Country Imagined with Sir Johnny Clegg in 2010. Telling meaningful and important stories complimented by a beautiful aesthetic seemed a fit. In 2014 Terri relished the task of condensing an enormous body of academic work into an accessible 52 minute film and is extremely proud of Forgotten World. She has just completed a short film for Sesame Street and a documentary short for Johannesburg-based NGO, Ububele, about the importance of bonding between mothers and children during the critical first 1000 days of life. Terri is a creative with pedantic sensibilities – attention to detail is everything, integrity and authenticity above all.
