Vernon Jordan III

Vernon Jordan, III (aka Moon/Moonflower) is a Philly-born ‘n raised bi-queer writer, filmmaker, poet, and teaching artist/Professor. They explore African American memories, dreams, hauntings, black queer fluidity, kinship, and the intimacies of black living: prioritizing the poetic/musical and the visual, they are a Visual Lyricist.With an MFA in Screenwriting, Vernon has taught at Big Picture Alliance, Moore College of Art & Design and University of the Arts. Moonflower is a recipient of fellowships, grants, and labs from The Leeway Foundation, Independence Public Media Foundation, Lambda Literary, Outfest Screenwriting Lab, and The PEW Center for Arts & Heritage.Currently, they are the Curator-At-Large for cinéSpeak, a West Philadelphia- based arthouse cinema and Journal. Their acclaimed short film ONE MAGENTA AFTERNOON is being developed into a feature film called Lavender Boy.
