Dr. Isaiah Pickens is a clinical psychologist who specializes in consulting, counseling, and educational services for families, teens, and young adults. Dr. Pickens currently practices at New York University School of Medicine and Bellevue Hospital Center in the department of child and adolescent psychiatry specializing in treatment of juvenile offenders who have a history of trauma. He also is Adjunct Faculty at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. His research has focuses on how young people understand themselves and the world around them. In addition to Dr. Pickens academic work, he enjoys merging his interest in youth and young adults with creative ideas for self-development. In the summer of 2010, he founded a creative writing company called iOpening Enterprises that specializes in creating books, films, and life skills workshops for teens and young adults. Dr. Pickens first project from iOpening Enterprises was his debut book entitled The Dawn of Generation Why. This book uses Dr. Pickens experiences as a young adult to discuss how young people answer questions like who am I and what do I want to do with my life in todays constantly changing world. Dr. Pickens seeks to continue providing services that will empower families, youth, and young adults.
