The Legend of Lwanda Magere is a fantasy action-drama 2D short animation based on a famous Luo folk legend. The film presents the old folktale for newer audiences in a fresh light. As this story has been passed down generations orally, each narrative heard is slightly different from the previous one. As storytellers, we hope our interpretation of the tale will be impactful and help preserve the story for present and future generations. The Legend of Lwanda Magere aims to highlight what happens when we forget what is important, when we lose ourselves to vanity and the consequences that follow.
