“Schwarz Rot Gold” travels through Germany to speak to successful Black Germans about the past, present and future of German identity and racism. The web series is hosted by Jermain Raffington, who yearned for Black German idols that he could identify with growing up in Germany. Jermain speaks to two Nazi regime survivors, Theodor Wonja Michael, a journalist, actor and civil servant, and Marie Nejar, an actress and nurse. He also meets the first Black female politician of the CDU party, Dr. Sylvie Nantcha, the CEO of a major digital music company, Patrick Mushatsi-Kareba and a well-known journalist and DJ, Hadnet Tesfai.
